Porter Airlines has opened a Toronto Pearson to Aruba route and will add four more winter destinations by December 2, 2026. The expansion gives Canadian travelers new nonstop options in the Caribbean, Mexico and Costa Rica. Porter plans nearly 1,400 flights from Toronto Pearson to sun destinations this winter, a year-over-year increase of more than 115%.

The airline inaugurated its Aruba service on October 30. Its official announcement confirms the five launch dates and peak frequencies. However, three forthcoming routes remain subject to government approval on Porter’s published destination schedule.

Porter’s five new Toronto Pearson routes start through December

Aruba became the first new destination on October 30, with service planned up to six times a week. Next, Providenciales in Turks and Caicos is scheduled for November 6, with up to five weekly flights.

Los Cabos, Mexico, follows on November 16, offering up to three flights per week. Meanwhile, Montego Bay, Jamaica, is scheduled for November 23 with up to six weekly departures. San José, Costa Rica, completes the rollout on December 2 with up to four.

These frequencies are seasonal peaks, not promises of daily or year-round operations. In addition, Porter’s booking page flags Providenciales, Montego Bay and San José as subject to government approval. Travelers should verify their departure dates and route status before making nonrefundable plans.

Winter sun flying from Toronto grows by more than 115%

Porter says its Toronto Pearson sun network will offer nearly 1,400 flights during the winter season. The figure includes more than the five new destinations. Existing and returning routes also serve Cancún, Puerto Vallarta, Nassau, Grand Cayman and Liberia, Costa Rica.

According to Porter, the network’s seasonal flight capacity is increasing by more than 115% from the previous winter. That is more than double the airline’s earlier scale at Pearson. However, the company has not provided booking totals for these particular five routes.

For passengers, the expansion creates additional nonstop choices from Toronto, especially during peak vacation periods. More service can also give travelers extra departure-day options. Yet the announcement does not guarantee cheaper tickets or establish that all peak frequencies will operate every week.

The move adds to competition for leisure traffic leaving Canada’s busiest airport. It is distinct from Air Canada and United’s announced summer 2027 cross-border services, which target different routes and dates.

Embraer E195-E2 jets make the longer routes possible

Porter is using its expanding fleet of 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 jets to serve longer destinations. The aircraft have two seats on either side of the aisle, eliminating middle seats. In addition, Porter offers complimentary fast Wi-Fi on flights operated by the E195-E2.

The seat count shows the aircraft’s passenger capacity, not how many people have booked the new routes. Porter has not published route-by-route passenger forecasts, expected occupancy or average fares in this announcement. Therefore, those outcomes cannot yet be measured from its schedule alone.

Vacation packages and approval conditions matter when booking

Porter also sells nonstop flights alongside Transat vacation packages on selected routes. The airline names Aruba, Liberia, Grand Cayman, Nassau, Puerto Vallarta and Cancún among the package destinations available from Toronto Pearson. However, that list does not include all five of its newly announced destinations.

Before booking a package, travelers should confirm that the flights and accommodation match their chosen dates. They should also check baggage allowances and entry rules for the destination. If they combine separately purchased flights, missed-connection protections may differ from a single-ticket booking.

Providenciales is next in the announced rollout on November 6, followed by Los Cabos and Montego Bay later that month. San José is scheduled for December 2. Nevertheless, the flagged services remain subject to the approvals noted on Porter’s website.
