Belgrade is set to gain a nonstop link to Florida. Air Serbia plans to launch twice-weekly Airbus A330-200 flights to Miami on 20 May 2027, the headline addition in a six-destination expansion of its summer network. More than a new holiday route, the service marks another step in the carrier’s effort to position Serbia’s capital as a connecting gateway between Southeast Europe and North America.

Miami would give Air Serbia three US destinations alongside New York and Chicago, and four in North America including Toronto. It could also offer travellers across the Balkans an alternative connection to South Florida without routing through one of western Europe’s major hubs.

Air Serbia’s booking page advertises Miami from 20 May 2027, with two weekly Airbus A330-200 flights. On a route operating just twice a week, departure days and connections at Belgrade will matter particularly to passengers travelling from elsewhere in Europe.

There is a small discrepancy in published schedules. AeroRoutes reported a 23 May starting date based on the timetable it reviewed on 20 October, while Air Serbia’s customer-facing destination page gives 20 May. The airline’s own advertised date is the basis for this report; schedules may still be adjusted before operations begin.

Air Serbia presents the expansion as a way to develop its network and connections through Belgrade. Chief executive Jiří Marek has linked the new services to the airline’s gradual growth. Their contribution to the hub will depend partly on how well regional arrivals connect with transatlantic departures.

Five more routes open between March and June

The rollout begins with Yerevan, Armenia, on 28 March 2027, followed by Helsinki on 1 April. Cluj-Napoca, Romania, starts on 31 May, with Chișinău, Moldova, scheduled for 3 June. The final addition is Mahón on the Spanish island of Menorca, starting 16 June.

The mix reflects several distinct markets. Yerevan, Cluj-Napoca and Chișinău extend Belgrade’s connections towards the Caucasus and eastern Europe. Helsinki strengthens the airline’s northern European reach, while Menorca offers a seasonal leisure destination in the Balearic Islands. Each also has the potential to feed the hub, although individual onward connections will depend on operating days and timetables.

Industry reporting also points to fleet adjustments, including plans to replace two Airbus A319s with higher-capacity A320s and add an Embraer E195. Those changes could give Air Serbia greater flexibility as it develops its network ahead of Expo 2027 in Belgrade.

For passengers, the six additions will widen the choice of destinations from Belgrade, but their practical appeal will depend on operating days, connections and fares. The dates reflect Air Serbia’s announced 2027 schedule and may change before services begin.
