easyJet to launch Newcastle–Reykjavik and Birmingham–Agadir flights

easyJet has scheduled two new routes to begin on 27 October 2026: Newcastle to Reykjavik and Birmingham to Agadir. Both services are planned twice weekly.

easyJet is preparing to begin two new routes from British airports on Tuesday 27 October 2026, with Newcastle–Reykjavik and Birmingham–Agadir both scheduled to operate twice a week. The services bring direct flights to Iceland from the North East and to Morocco’s Atlantic coast from the Midlands.

They are the final launches in a nine-route winter programme announced by easyJet in April. The airline has published departure days and fares, although the first flights should only be described as having operated once their departures are confirmed.

Newcastle–Reykjavik flights scheduled twice weekly

The Newcastle–Reykjavik route is due to start on 27 October, with services on Tuesdays and Saturdays, according to easyJet’s official route schedule. When tickets went on sale in April, the airline advertised one-way fares from £27.17, including taxes.

Reykjavik adds a different sort of winter destination to Newcastle’s leisure network. Iceland attracts visitors for city breaks, geothermal bathing and northern-lights trips, although the weather and hours of daylight change sharply through the season.

The new link follows two other additions scheduled this week. Newcastle–Fuerteventura was due to begin on 25 October, operating on Thursdays and Sundays, while Krakow was scheduled from 26 October on Mondays and Fridays. Together they give Newcastle travellers three more destinations with very different travel seasons and reasons to visit.

Birmingham gains a direct link to Agadir

From Birmingham, easyJet plans flights to Agadir on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The first departure is scheduled for 27 October; the airline initially advertised seats from £39.99 one way, including taxes.

Agadir, on Morocco’s Atlantic coast, is being marketed mainly as a winter-sun destination. Unlike a route concentrated on business travel, the timing and twice-weekly pattern make it suitable for week-long breaks or shorter stays arranged around the operating days.

easyJet holidays is also offering packages to the destination. Its beach holiday packages include a hotel and transfers, with luggage terms that differ from a basic flight-only booking. Travellers comparing the two will need to consider the total package rather than the headline airfare alone.

Nine easyJet routes spread across six UK airports

In addition to Newcastle and Birmingham, the wider expansion covers Southampton–Paris Charles de Gaulle, Belfast International–Sharm El Sheikh and Rome, Luton–Ljubljana and Southend–Budapest. These routes were scheduled to begin between 25 and 26 October.

The Belfast additions are notable because easyJet says it will be the only operator with a regular Belfast International–Rome route and the only airline flying from the airport to Sharm El Sheikh. It also claims unique non-stop links on Luton–Ljubljana and Southend–Budapest.

The network additions show easyJet placing new point-to-point services beyond its larger London bases. Newcastle gains three routes in three days, while Birmingham’s new Morocco service gives passengers another way to reach North Africa without travelling to a different UK airport.

The scheduled first flights on Tuesday will turn those plans into operating routes, provided departures run as published. The service days, meanwhile, are already clear for passengers planning a winter trip.
