Air France eyes Nashville and San Diego flights from Paris in 2027

Air France eyes Nashville and San Diego flights from Paris in 2027

Two potential US additions have surfaced in Air France’s summer 2027 schedules: Nashville, Tennessee, and San Diego, California. According to route data reported by AeroRoutes in early October 2026, the carrier is planning three weekly nonstop services from Paris Charles de Gaulle to each city, using Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The filings indicate intent, but neither route should yet be treated as an irrevocable airline launch announcement.

For North American travelers, the significance goes beyond adding more dots to Air France’s route map. Both cities would gain a direct link to a large European connecting hub, potentially reducing the need to transit through an existing US gateway on journeys to France, Europe and beyond.

Nashville: a new nonstop option for Tennessee

The Paris–Nashville schedule indicates a May 14, 2027 start, with Monday, Wednesday and Friday departures aboard the A350-900. Proposed flight AF038 would depart Paris at 2:10 p.m. and arrive in Nashville at 4:40 p.m. AF039 would leave Nashville at 6:55 p.m., arriving in Paris at 10:15 a.m. the following morning. Times are local and provisional.

Nashville’s identity as a major music destination is only one part of its appeal. Its convention activity, growing corporate footprint and surrounding regional economy could also generate transatlantic demand. For business travelers, eliminating a domestic connection may be particularly attractive; for leisure travelers, a Paris nonstop would make trips to Europe simpler.

San Diego: service aimed at Southern California

The second proposed addition targets San Diego from May 17, 2027. Three weekly A350-900 services are listed, with AF058 leaving Paris at 10:10 a.m. and arriving at 12:50 p.m. Flight AF059 would depart San Diego at 3:10 p.m. and reach Paris at 11:05 a.m. the following day.

San Diego has an economic base in research, life sciences and technology as well as strong visitor traffic. While nearby Los Angeles offers extensive long-haul connections, the two airports do not serve identical local markets. For passengers whose destination is San Diego County, avoiding an additional flight or a long ground transfer could be a material improvement.

Air France aircraft have visited San Diego on occasional operations before. What distinguishes this proposal is the appearance of a scheduled recurring passenger link.

What three weekly A350 flights would mean

Operating three times per week is a selective way to enter markets without committing to daily long-haul capacity from the outset. Air France could combine local traffic with connecting passengers at Charles de Gaulle, drawing from its wider network. Demand and commercial performance would determine whether the timetable ultimately expands, changes or contracts.

Competition remains significant. Connecting itineraries through other European and American hubs already provide access to both cities. A new nonstop only succeeds commercially if enough passengers are willing to pay for the convenience at fares that support the aircraft and operating costs.

Still a proposal, not a final timetable

As of October 8, 2026, these details stem from provisional scheduling information published by AeroRoutes. They are not a substitute for an official Air France announcement, and launch dates, frequencies, aircraft assignments and availability could change.
