Direct air links between Morocco and Israel could resume sooner than expected. After a September 16, 2026 meeting in New York involving Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz, the two sides said they intended to expand direct flights.
A political announcement, but no published schedule yet
Information released after the meeting indicated that Moroccan carriers could resume direct services to Israel within weeks, with additional air links envisaged over the following months. At publication, however, no exact restart date, weekly frequency or final airline schedule had been released.
Royal Air Maroc is the obvious carrier to watch because it previously operated Casablanca–Tel Aviv, but no timetable had been formally published for late 2026.
The Casablanca–Tel Aviv precedent
Royal Air Maroc launched regular Casablanca–Tel Aviv service in March 2022 following the resumption of diplomatic ties between Morocco and Israel. The route was later suspended amid a sharply deteriorating regional security environment.
A return of nonstop flights would therefore matter for tourism, family travel and business links, while potentially restoring Casablanca’s role as a connecting point for travelers between Israel, Africa and Europe.
What to watch
The next concrete indicator will be the publication of schedules and the opening of ticket sales. Until then, the announcement should be treated as a planned resumption rather than a confirmed operating timetable.

Why a restart would matter
Direct flights would shorten travel times and restore a route with tourism, family and business demand. Any restart would still depend on bilateral security assessments, airline scheduling and the wider regional situation rather than on commercial demand alone.
